Ronda Rousey is a former professional mixed martial artist (MMA) and judoka from the United States. She was born on February 1, 1987 in Riverside, California. Known for her impressive career in women’s MMA, Rousey was considered a trailblazer and one of the most dominant fighters in the sport.
Prior to her MMA career, Rousey was a successful judoka, winning a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. She was the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in judo.
In 2012, Rousey signed with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), becoming the first female champion in UFC history. She successfully defended her UFC women’s bantamweight title, scoring impressive victories with her signature technique, the armbar.
