Golden Earring bassist Rinus Gerritsen can be seen in theaters after the summer with the story behind Moontan, on a special tour of live documentary show Iconic Albums.

Gerritsen is interviewed on stage by presenter Martin Kuiper about the Hague rockers’ most successful album, with the worldwide hit Radar Love on it. Other protagonists such as Earring members Barry Hay and Cesar Zuiderwijk tell their stories on the big screen via pre-recorded video interviews. Record boss Willem van Kooten and saxophonist Bertus Borgers, who contributed some songs, and arranger Job Maarse also have their say.

Additionally, Gerritsen will give the visitor a unique insight into the history of the museum based on the master tapes. “We’re going to dissect Radar Love and Vanilla Queen,” Rinus says.

Released in 1973, Moontan was The Earring’s only album to achieve gold status in the United States.

From September 14, Rinus Gerritsen can be seen in Bloemendaal, IJsselstein, Purmerend, Rijswijk, Nistelrode, Spanbroek, Franeker, Emmeloord, Hoorn, Alphen a/d Rijn, Brielle, Oss, Dordrecht, Bergeijk, Beverwijk, Kampen, Steenwijk, Vlaardingen and Papendrecht.
