Press release from the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported since Friday, bringing the total number of counts tested positive for the virus to 485.

The Humboldt County Data Dashboard now provides additional information on age-appropriate cases. The 0-19 age group is divided into two groups as 0-9 and 10-19 years old. About 8 percent of county cases are in the 0-9 age group and approximately 12 percent are in the 10-19 age group.

Other daily and weekly databases on the dashboard have been updated. Some highlights include:

The 20-29 age group accounts for 23.5 percent of the highest number of local cases.

Nearly 44 percent of local cases are diagnosed in people under the age of 30.

The time it takes to double the county’s case count is now 50 days.

The county’s confirmed case rate is 362 per 100,000 residents. State and national rates were five times higher in 1,949 and 2,070 cases, respectively.
