Costa Rica: Medical insurance required
Costa Rica reopened to tourism this summer, welcoming travelers from Europe and Canada. About 6,000 visitors came in August and September. By comparison, the country attracted 3.1 million passengers in 2019 – but the government said it had not experienced the spread of the Corona virus related to Costa Rica travel.
“Basically, tourism is one-tenth of our economy,” said Gustavo Jr., Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism. Sekura said. “We really need economic restructuring. Through this step-by-step process, we have been able to prove that international travel is not an issue.”
Some Americans arriving in Costa Rica from September 1, starting November 1, will welcome all US travelers to Costa Rica, despite the increasing number of cases in the United States.
All viewers must complete one Health Boss Online, provide negative test results taken within the next 72 hours and purchase travel insurance from one of the two local companies to cover accommodation and medical expenses if the traveler contracts the corona virus (cost depends on age and accommodation, but 45 years stays two weeks will pay Approximately $ 10 per day). Passengers with international insurance policies must provide a certificate from the insurer, be uploaded in the Health Pass, the policy will be effective in Costa Rica, and cover a total of about $ 50,000 in medical and lodging costs related to the virus.
To attract visitors, the country relies on the reputation of nature-based tourism from volcanic interiors to beaches. Of its hotels, 94 percent have 40 or fewer rooms, making it easier to avoid other guests.
“The government tells us we can stay 100 percent in hotels, but in restaurants and public places it is 50 percent, so we have a limit to be occupied by only 75 percent in most hotels,” said Hans Pister, president and co-founder. The Kayuka Collection, Which operates five lodges in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is not the place to see barrel rates below, which is easy to hang out with for big hotels. With similarly fixed costs, most smaller hotels are more likely to offer extra overnight free or room upgrades.
