spider head takes place in the near future, where inmates have the option of reducing the length of their sentence. All they have to do is participate in an experimental study, but of course there’s a big fat snake in the grass.

spider head according to critic Jip Strijbos contains a good start, but unfortunately the film quickly weakens after that. According to Strijbos, the film will remain “shallow and slow, and even Hemsworth’s best slippery slope can’t change that.”

The examiner therefore concludes that spider head on the “a mountain of Netflix sci-fi movies waste their interesting premise” box. For this reason, Strijbos also confirms that watching spider head is not recommended.

collision is directed by Frenchman Fabien Martorell. The film’s cast includes Langley Kirkwood, Tessa Jubber, Bonko Khoza, Mpho Sebeng and Zoey Sneedon.

collision takes place two days before Freedom Day in South Africa. Apartheid was fought in South Africa years ago, but the country remains struggling – including with wealthy white people who see this policy reversal as a historic mistake.

Critic Didier Becu mentions collision “a thriller that you can safely put on ironing, because unfortunately Collision is again such a title that you will undoubtedly forget in no time.” According to Becu, this is due to “ugly acting performance” and one “A scenario that consists of an accumulation of clichés and a plot that is far too simple.”

According to the reviewer, Collision “no more than a mediocre film which, due to the large offer on the streaming channels, is doomed to rot under a thick layer of dust without much noise.”

father of the bride is directed by Gary Azalraki. The film’s cast includes Andy García, Gloria Estefan, Adria Arjona, Diego Boneta and Chloe Fineman.

father of the bride is the third film adaptation of the book of the same name, but in this latest film adaptation the plot has been thrown overboard. According to critic Terence Shea, it turns out “to have been a wise decision.”

The remake of father of the bride takes a new approach by adjusting the plot, setting, and background of the characters. According to Shea, father of the bride well what is it: “a lighthearted romantic comedy about a wedding.”

According to the critic, the charm of the film lies in “the feel-good factor and jokes that at least put a smile on your face.” Additionally, Shea says the Miami location can also be appreciated.

completed is directed by Robert Schinkel. The film’s cast includes Michael Epp, Sanne Langelaar, Mike Lebanon, Rochelle Deekman and Loek Peters.

According to the critic Didier Becu belongs completed “home in the ranks of ingenious horror.” Complete is a bit more arthouse and a bit more distant than a typical Hollywood film.

Becu concludes that this film “no less intriguing” makes. The critic compares this film by Robert Schinkel to the work of David Lynch, because the spectator floats in both works. “between fantasy and reality and you never know which one it is.”

Becu call the movie “a mind foutage or if you will, a disturbed fantasy in which scars play a central role.” Additionally, the reviewer mentions that the film “full of symbolism shrinks can sink their teeth into.”

Sing, Dance, Play: Kabuki with Toma Ikuta
Sing, Dance, Play: Kabuki with Toma Ikuta is now available on Netflix. Read the full review here.

Sing, Dance, Play: Kabuki with Toma Ikuta is directed by Tadashi Aizawa. The film’s cast includes Toma Ikuta and Matsuya Onoe.

In the Netflix documentary Sing, Dance, Play: Kabuki with Toma Ikuta Japanese actor Toma Ikuta challenges himself to learn the ropes of Kabuki in an extremely short time. Kabuki is an ancient form of Japanese theater, characterized by stylized movements, extravagant costumes and heavy makeup on a white painted base.

The art form is based on a long list of traditions. So it (normally) also takes the average kabuki actor years to master.

Still, the art form isn’t widely known, so it’s nice to see that Netflix has made a documentary about it. Critic Ruby Dijk therefore concludes that Sing, Dance, Play: Kabuki with Toma Ikuta “to bring this age-old art form to a wider audience” brings, making art form “feels like new.”

my fake boyfriend
my fake boyfriend can now be seen on Amazon Prime Video. Read the full review here.

my fake boyfriend is directed by Rose Troche. The cast includes Keiynan Lonsdale, Dylan Sprouse, Samer Salem, Marcus Rosner and Sarah Hyland.

The story of my fake boyfriend is about Andrew, who is in a toxic relationship with muscular Nico. Andrew knows Nico is cheating on him and disrespects him.

Andrew has broken up with him more than once, but Nico comes back each time with his legs dangling. This changes when Andrew, with the help of his best friend Jake, creates the social identity of a fake boyfriend (aka fake boyfriend).

Critic Zadok Samson mentions that the plot isn’t badly crafted. According to him, it fits perfectly with films of this genre and also fits perfectly with today’s world.

Yet the film fails in its visual elaboration. Samson therefore concludes: “Everything about this film, from the sets to the lighting, looks cheap.”

The reviewer doesn’t call the movie a winner, unless you include the Razzie Awards. Still, Samson mentions that Lonsdale and Hyland fans can enjoy this movie.

Love & Gelato
Love & Gelato is now available on Netflix. Read the full review here.

Love & Gelato is directed by Brandon Camp. The film’s cast includes Susanna Skaggs, Tobia De Angelis, Saul Nanni, Valentina Lodovini and Owen McDonnell.

Love & Gelato according to critic Ruby Dijk “full of teen movie cliches: a threesome, an inspirational speech from a parent figure, and the ultimate conclusion that you can also choose yourself.” Additionally, Dijk mentions that there is “true character development” there is no question.

Love & Gelato is furthermore, according to Dijk “nothing we haven’t seen before.” For example, according to the critic, the most important plot points “find it out in the first ten minutes of the movie.”

The man from Toronto
The man from Toronto is now available on Netflix. Read the full review here.

The man from Toronto is directed by Patrick Hughes. The film’s cast includes Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, Kaley Cuoco, Ellen Barkin, Jasmine Mathews and Lela Loren.

According to critic Didier Becu is the man of Toronto “a movie that wants to be everything, but ultimately turned out to be nothing.” For example, Becu notes that the film “a typical scenario” contains.

However, according to the Examiner, it is “especially Kevin Hart getting pissed off as a downright irritating chat major you’ve had enough of after just ten minutes.” Becu also mentions the “ignoring” by director Patrick Hughes.

The CGI effects don’t look like this and the action scenes lose all their impact because Hughes shoots them faster. Becu concludes the following: “As a rule, there’s nothing against mindless entertainment, but when it’s packaged as directly as in The Man from Toronto, it’s going to be a very tiring ride.”

ascend
ascend is now available on Disney+. Read the full review here.

ascend is directed by Akin Omotoso. The cast of the film includes Dayo Okeniyi, Yetide Badaki, Uche Agada, Ral Agada, Elijah Sholanke and Jaden Osimuwa.

The story is that of the Antetokounmpo family, whose three brothers Giannis, Thanasis and Kostas all played in the NBA. Additionally, the film chronicles the struggles of an immigrant family who have always had to hide from the authorities of a foreign country.

According to critic Mitchell van Vuren, Disney ultimately leaves its mark on the film a little too much. For example, he notes that despite the strong plot and high production quality, the drama often seems to triumph over the sport.

According to Van Vuren, the basketball disintegrates more in the film “to a way to pursue the American dream and quickly migrate to the United States in the end.” The reviewer mentions ascend so more of a lavish feel-good story, which fits into Disney+’s colorful selection, than that of a realistic biopic.
