In Wonder Woman 184, Wonder Woman learns to fly! The Princess of the Amazon receives a major upgrade from jumping, running, lassoing and invisible flight around the world.

But she does it in a particularly unexpected way. By the way … doing it. With a little help from Steve Trevor, who describes how a skillfully designed plane flies in the air, Diana does it with her roughly human-shaped body. Hu?

Flying Wonder Woman goes down in comic book history

As for a superhero of her stature, the powers of Wonder Woman oppose the code. Of course, Superman is sometimes referred to as “Super Invention,” “Super Ventriloquism” or “Accidentally pulls himself back. ”But these days he is strong and bulletproof, he can fly, it is generally accepted that he has laser eyes, frost breathing, X-ray vision and superior senses.

Wonder Woman is super strong and super durable, but not bomb-proof – otherwise why would she do the Fraser thing? – And one of the biggest fighters in the world with a ton of startup glamor. But beyond that it gets muddy. At various points in his history, he was able to use a “mental radio” that, like telepathy, was given the ability to speak to animals by the god Artemis, who could travel to different dimensions through meditation, or could easily speak any language very easily.

And Wonder Woman could never fly. This becomes clear when you think for a second. Why does she need an invisible jet if she can fly? The aircraft is no longer as closely associated with superheroes as it was in 1942. Even Superman could not fly at first – that’s where the phrase “high-rise buildings flow within the same boundary” comes from.

For a long time, an invisible plane or jet served well for the Wonder Woman. Writer / artist George Perez The unlisted plane did not become one of his basic powers until 1987 Kicked off the protracted resume of his original story. Now, with the blessing of the God of Hermes, Diana was able to soar through the sky with some winged sandals.

In Wonder Woman # 206, DC Comics (1973) Wonder Woman and Nubia pass each other through the air.

But this is not the first time she has learned to fly. In the 1970s, Wonder Woman lost all of her power for a (short, but memorable and infamous) time, and rediscovered an ancient Amazon technique when they were restored. She learned to ride wind currents for short distances. In other words, she figured out how to fly like an airplane without an air-shaped body.

This is how it goes inside Wonder Woman 1984, Odd as it appears on the screen. But you know what they say: fish have to swim, Amazon has to fly.
