Woerden – Ad de Regt can start as a new alderman for Woerden. The new alderman, appointed by Lijst van der Does, was appointed by the city council on Thursday evening February 18. This happened during a digital city council meeting. De Regt succeeds Arthur Bolderdijk, who left at the beginning of January.
Appointment by the council of the municipality of Woerden
Last month LijstvanderDoes introduced Ad de Regt as the new candidate for city councilor. Appointment is a competence of Local council. The latter has now said “yes” by a large majority. Of the 30 votes cast, 28 votes were for, 1 vote against and 1 vote was invalid. The council decides on the portfolios of aldermen, but it is already known that De Regt will take over a large part of Bolderdijk’s portfolio, including finances and public space.
Reaction
De Regt (Papekop, 63) is delighted with his appointment and the broad support for the council: “It is a privilege to be able to govern in a beautiful, dynamic and ambitious municipality like Woerden. Woerden is – to speak – next to me. I come there often and is therefore close to my heart. I look forward to constructive and open cooperation with the board, at the college and with officials. And I look forward to many pleasant contacts with residents and entrepreneurs, both in town and in villages!
