On the night of Sunday February 7 to Monday February 8, the annual Super Bowl tournament will again be televised. The American football season finale is a real spectacle every year with plenty of pre- and during-game entertainment and sports. It starts at 12:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN, ESPN6 and BBC One.
The difference
For the second year in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs went to the Super Bowl. He won the presidents last year. The opponent is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where star player and six-time winner Tom Brady first played this year.
Playground
Pirates play in their playground in Tampa, Florida. This has never happened before in the over fifty year history of the Super Bowl. The location is determined years in advance. This is the 55th Super Bowl and is therefore also called the “Super Bowl LV”.
Dutch Super Bowl Time
Due to the timing difference with the United States, the Super Bowl can still be seen in the Netherlands in the evening. Departure time is 12:30 p.m. NST. Before that, the Super Bowl opens with a stunning screen and an American national anthem.
Half-time display
Halfway through the match, a well-known artist performs at a so-called halftime show. This year it’s The Weeknd, the Canadian artist who hit last year with Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears.
Live on TV
The Super Bowl is broadcast in the Netherlands by ESPN, former FOX Sports. The sports match is broadcast by the Dutch commentary on the main channel.
