When asked if Alabama-Florida would be closer, Stephen A. Look at Smith laughing, ending with the big ‘Roll Tight’

The No. 1 Alabama average win rate this season is 32.7 points, and this conference alone went 10-0 during the record.

As Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide prepares for Saturday ‘s SEC Championship game against 7th Florida, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was asked if the title game would be close.

His reaction was, of course, to the classic Stephen A. Smith.

“What?” He asked with a laugh. “It’s an envelope. It’s a funny question. It means PLEASE. Because you haven’t heard from me in a while: Ala-Bama. There’s nothing to talk about here. PLEASE. Didn’t the Florida Gators get two losses when they relaunched this year? Didn’t they lose to LSU in a ‘thriller’ movie last week? But when the LSU went against Alabama, they dropped 55 on the LSU, or when they went against Texas A&M, Doesn’t that score look like 52-24? Florida lost to both, but are they going to give Mc Jones and Naji Harris and Divonta Smith and the team problems? Please.

In his third year in Florida, coach Dan Mullen led the Gators to the SEC title game for the first time since 2016, behind Kyle Traskin’s dynamic passing of 40 touchdowns in the compact season – 10 more than any other country.

Trask is second nationally in crossing yards per game (360.3), a place 345.9 over Jones. Jones’ 27 DT passes are third nationally. Jones is the country’s No. 2 seed and Trask is the No. 4 seed.

None of that mattered to Smith.

“Every day, every day, especially when it comes to the SEC in Alabama this weekend. It won’t even be close. My condolences to the Florida Gators. I (Kyle) like Trask. They’ve got some good players, but Tim Debo isn’t in that locker room, he says, ‘Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go’. This will never happen again. You will not play like garbage, you will not apologize and defend. There was no one like that in that Florida locker room.

“Roll tight. This is a romp. You can post it. I now predict the score. It’s like this – I know coaches will use this to motivate his team, it’s not going that way – Alabama 52, Florida 26.

“I guess a rumble.”

Well, there you have it.
