Netflix and Disney + need to be careful, a new streaming service is coming to Europe in the form of HBO Max.
How many streaming services can you have? At the moment, the number of streaming services is piling up. The HBO Max service has been around for some time in the United States, and the company has now announced that it will operate outside of North America.
HBO Max is crossing to Latin America, but also to Europe. There is a good chance that the service will also be introduced in the Netherlands. It is not known how this will be shaped. For example, HBO Go is already available in the Netherlands, but exclusively thanks to a build by Ziggo. You cannot subscribe to just one product.
Whether the new streaming service will suffer the same fate remains to be seen, but it seems unlikely. It is truly an autonomous service and that is how it will want to present itself in Europe. And come with that Netflix and Disney + will soon be a serious competitor. HBO Max will arrive in Europe in the second half of 2021. It should be operational by the end of next year.
HBO Max Global director Andy Forssell says he wants to set himself apart from the competition with a personal approach. Instead of compiling an offer based on algorithms and data, the streaming service should receive an offer based on human input.
