World champion Max Verstappen continues his hunt for the most GP wins in a calendar year at the Mexican Grand Prix. Can he repeat it three times in a row, like last week in Austin (USA) and three weeks ago in Suzuka (Japan)? Watch all the videos of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City here.
Verstappen won his second world title at the Japanese Grand Prix. Last week, the Red Bull driver recorded his 13th win of the season at the United States Grand Prix, sharing the most wins in a year with Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. If he wins one of the remaining three races, he is the only record holder.
Verstappen finished sixth in the second free practice session at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The practice was all about testing Pirelli’s prototype tires for the 2023 season and George Russell was ahead of Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ogan.
At the Mexican weekend, things seem to be in order at Ferrari. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were fastest in first free practice, although Sergio Perez and Verstappen soon followed in the Red Bulls. Nyck de Vries was not allowed to run too fast in his last appearance for Mercedes.
