Vice follows the true story of Dick Cheney, one of the most important vice-presidents in infamous American history. As Vice President under George W. Bush, he was notable for his controversial views. Dick was a supporter of the “war on terror” and the war in Iraq.

According to many, this is the best role of this Batmanactor Christian Bale so far. Bale took on the role of Dick Cheney for this film and won an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He transforms Cheney into a human toad and a scheming man who wraps President Bush around his finger. There’s certainly humor, too: the many heart attacks that Cheney deals with rather laconically make for loud and funny interludes. He reshaped his country and the world in a way that is still felt today. And that makes the film a unique viewing experience. An absolute must-have for fans of American politics. Three and a half stars.
