Van Veen looks back on the first half of the Pro Tour: “Very satisfied, but still room for improvement”

Gian van Veen won his PDC Tour Card earlier this year. The 21-year-old Dutchman has already reached the quarter-finals of the European Tour twice.

Van Veen looks back with satisfaction on his first six months on the Pro Tour. “It’s going very well, I’ve already managed a few tournaments and I’m now up to 83rd in the world rankings,” says Van Veen. Tungsten Tales.

Until now, Van Veen was not a full-time professional. “Normally I complete my studies in three weeks and my training in aviation technology is finished. I wanted to complete these studies because you never know how long a darts career is, so I always have something But I want to put it all on the darts for a while and see how far I can go, because I feel there’s still room for improvement.”

Goals

Van Veen still has major goals for the second half of the year. “In addition to qualifying for the World Cup (which he can hardly miss), I also want to qualify for the final of the Players’ Championship and, if possible, the European Championship.”

Finally, Van Veen also gave his opinion on the performance of Dutch duo Dirk van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert in the last World Cup of Darts. “Dirk and Danny are two completely different characters, you clearly saw that in the match against Belgium. With the score 7-7, Dirk was very happy and Danny was rather shy. But that shouldn’t be a problem either more, I think they can look back on a good Darts World Cup and be proud of their performance.”
