In a battle between the last two losing teams of the AFC, the visiting Steelers dominated all three stages to take a 24-7 lead in the first half. Ben Rothlisberger threw two first-half touchdown passes to Dionde Johnson, while Pittsburgh defender Derrick Henry kept just 27 yards out in the first 30 minutes of the game. James Connor rushed for 60 yards, while Penny Snell hit a touchdown run on one side that was second to Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh advanced to a 14-0 lead as the Steelers beat the Titans 161-1 in the first 18 minutes of the game, going 7-7 in third place on the first two drives. Ryan Danehill hit Corey Davis for a four-yard touchdown so Tennessee were able to get their second inning on board. Pittsburgh responded with another score, 24-yard run and Connor’s 18-yard catch set by Chris Boswell’s 38-yard field goal. After another Titans pound, Ray-Ray McLoud set up Johnson’s second touchdown with a 58-yard comeback, a nine-yard pass from Rothlisberger.
