The SD Worx team presented the new jerseys today. SD Worx takes over the main sponsor of the Boels-Dolmans cycling team. This secures the future of the Dutch women’s team for the next four years.
After years of driving in orange, the team is now turning purple-red. The ensign of the team is, of course, the double world champion Anna van der Breggen.
Sporting director Danny Stam describes the team as a team with many top players. “As a result, we need to be able to play for victories on all fronts. So of course I am thinking of Anna van der Breggen, Chantal Blaak, Amy Pieters and Jolien D’Hoore, among others. In addition, we have registered a number of super talent, which means that we are already building a top team in the years 2023 and 2024. “
“This is the big advantage because we now have a sponsor with SD Worx who has offered us security for the next four years. And this team is of unprecedented strength. The second row has really improved a lot. Then I think of runners like Ashleigh Moolman, Demi Vollering and Elena Cecchini. As a result, we should be more widely represented in the final and we have more tactical strengths to play.
For 2021, Team SD Worx will have fourteen riders. Anna van der Breggen, Chantal Blaak, Amy Pieters, Lonneke Uneken and Demi Vollering come from the Netherlands. In addition, Jolien d’Hoore (Belgium), Christine Majerus (Luxembourg), Elena Cecchini (Italy), Roxane Fournier (France), Anna Shackley (Great Britain), Ashleigh Moolman (South Africa), Nikola Noskova (Czech Republic) ), Karol -Ann Canuel (Canada) and Niamh Fisher-Black (New Zealand).
