The Flash may be the world’s fastest superhero, but he won’t be hitting new box office records any time soon. DC Studios’ latest title continues its hopeless cinematic torture. To date, the film has only made $245 million, with less than $100 million coming from its home country of the United States.
Lightning 2
At one point it was planned the flash there would surely be a sequel. The script was even ready in which the protagonists Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton (Batman) and Sacha Calle (Supergirl) would return.
But with current forecasts (hopefully, experts say, the $300 million is still being mined), there seems to be a loss of over $100 million, and the plans may be scrapped.
Indiana Jones and the week of disappointment
Another title, which seemed to be a guaranteed success on paper, risks an even more disastrous fate. Indiana Jones and the Fate Dial opened with $130 million worldwide and is also expected to close at $300 million.
This is partly due to the impending (and overwhelming) competition from Mission Impossible 7 anyway, but also Oppenheimer and Barbie. If you add up the production costs and the marketing costs, Harrison Ford’s return as an Indy cost a whopping $450 million in total, which even threatens a painful $150(!) million loss. here.
