Government of Colorado. Saturday.
“I will never give up on cholera. I know we have the determination to do what is necessary to defeat this virus,” he said in a police statement. “We need to do a better job of wearing masks, getting out physically and avoiding social contact with people outside our homes. It’s time for change in Colorado.
More than 1,000 cases were reported in West Virginia in a single day for the first time since the outbreak on Saturday. On the same day, Kentucky added 3,303 new cases, according to a report by the government’s Andy Bezier.
“Please take this seriously. You are either part of a solution to the good fight to help others or you are helping to spread this virus,” Bessier warned residents.
The state of New Mexico, Michael Lujan Grisham, announced the temporary closure of personal services for non-essential activities on a monthly basis, with the Oregon government ordering a two-week statewide freeze beginning Wednesday in Kate Brown. Bars and restaurants are limited to delivery or takeout, gyms are closed and merchants are asked to work as many staff as possible from home.
Dr James Phillips, head of disaster medicine at George Washington University Hospital, told CNN’s Erica Hill on Saturday that cases would rise further in the coming holidays.
Hospitals are already under pressure in front of the spikes
Already, hospitals are feeling the effects of new high-corona virus cases.
As of Saturday, 69,455 people had been hospitalized with the virus, according to the Govt monitoring program. This marked the fifth consecutive day of hospitalization, with 68,500 recorded the previous day.
In Colorado, 180 new hospital admissions were reported Saturday, with the health website showing that 43% and 15% of beds in critical care ventilators for adults are occupied by confirmed and suspected Govt-19 patients in the state.
According to the governor’s announcement, hospitals in the state are now working to increase their capacity, increase their staff and measure selected practices.
And experts say the expected rise is not going to help.
Dr Lena Wen, a CNN medical researcher and former Baltimore health commissioner, said: “Things are getting worse and worse.
“We have this storm of corona virus across the country,” Wen said. “It’s not just one or two hotspots, the whole country is a site of corona virus infection.”
The flu season clashes with the epidemic
Health experts have warned that the flu period will not only bring people in and increase the spread, but also complicate the epidemic.
U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams said Saturday that the flu and corona virus can cause many similar symptoms, which can confuse patients who experience the symptoms.
But Adams said there is a specific symptom that indicates a corona virus infection.
“One sign I warn people to really distinguish the flu from covia is the loss of taste or smell,” Adams said of the NPR’s “everything considered.” “If you get that symptom, you should contact your healthcare provider right away, go inside and get a govt test.”
Adams encouraged the public to get a flu this year and warned against self-diagnosis. A health care provider can provide the best possible answers so that patients can respond appropriately to their symptoms.
“Goit seems to spread much more easily than the flu, and it causes more serious illnesses for some people,” he said.
Cracks in Navajo Nation cases
Starting Monday, the Navajo Nation will implement three weeks of rigorous health measures to manage the virus, the Nation said in a statement.
Two public health orders and one administrative order have been issued. One of the orders was that all government offices and institutions should be closed from November 16 to December 6, except for the essential staff required to maintain essential services and government functions, according to the publication. The report said all schools must go online for the order.
The second order implements three weeks of house locking and prohibits any travel to the Navajo Nation. Residents are allowed to leave their homes during emergencies or to get groceries, medicines and firewood.
“We must implement these public health measures to protect our Navajo people and reduce the spread of this virus,” Navajo National President Jonathan Ness said in a statement. “We are getting closer and closer to a major public health crisis in which we can see our hospitals being filled with patients.”
“The safest place here is in the Navajo Nation,” Ness added.
CNN’s Christina McSuris, Jay Croft, Duckin Anton, Elizabeth Joseph, Alec Snyder and Holly Silverman contributed to the report.
