EINDHOVEN – Four containers of six meters by three will be added as an extension of the ‘t Trefpunt meeting point in the Tempel district. The authorization process is ongoing, but President Ge Wonink wants the containers to be in place early next year.
“Because there are temporary leases, the containers were chosen to limit financial risks. Considering the zoning plan, there is no room for a renovation, ”says Wonink.
Stuck up
Now that the Trefpunt is still closed for “ normal ” crown-related activities, there is plenty of room for the Zorgmed and Archipel care organizations. But as soon as everything can be restarted, the council expects to have problems with the spaces available for all permanent tenants.
Zorgmed offers daytime activities in the morning without indication three times a week. ‘t Trefpunt is a neighborhood place where local residents can go for coffee, a conversation or an activity. They stay in a room accompanied by a professional care provider from Zorgmed and volunteers from Trefpunt.
There will be a container with a toilet and a kitchenette, the other three are for activities
Since the beginning of this year, Archipel has been at the center every day with daytime activities for people with an indication. They use several rooms for, for example, the gym and the kitchen for meals. “Archipel is not enough for a room. They are now using the empty rooms, but they will soon be busy again. We have come to realize that we need to do something about it. We have looked at units and asked for various offers, ”says Wonink. “There will be a container with a toilet and a kitchenette, the other three are for activities. It has not yet been determined which tenants will end up in the containers. “
Vegetable gardens
The containers will be placed on the Turnhoutlaan side. The terrace will again be tiled and the greenery will be approached, but the green spaces will remain. There will be a section with vegetable gardens for enthusiasts. Wonink: “Everything is close at hand, the only downside is that people have to go out.”
The containers will provide sufficient space. An upward trend can be observed, especially among Zorgmed participants. Wonink: “We want to be a place for the neighborhood and to reach and involve local residents. Registration is normally done through WIJeindhoven, but those who want to come and have a look may feel free to come on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. “
