UCI has released the Cyclocross Calendar 2021-2022. Some changes in this compared to previous years. Most eye-catching: Transfer the Super Prestige branch from Cover, one of the classics in the world of cyclocross, to February. It does not make anyone happy.
The Belgian cyclocross season begins on September 11 with the Etios Cross in Logeran. In the coming weeks, only Etias Crossen will be finished, along with Beringan, Igloo, Predin and Mulbeck, respectively. Super Prestige will then start in Keaton, after which Cyclocross Peloton will travel to the United States for three World Cups.
Upon his return to Europe, Super Prestige will end up with Rutherford as a second test. Strike on the oldest regular scale: The DJ will take the place of Midelkerke, who will host the Belgian championship in early 2022, and Gavare will move in February. An action without the knowledge of the organizers and it gets worse, right there on the side of the shelter.
Holiness
“Are you shocked? All right, so do I, ”replied Etienne Guard, leader of Noah’s Friends, the organizer. Kevert is cautious in his statements, but clearly disappointed. This is understandable because Kavere is one of the oldest classic genres in cyclocross. Putting it on the calendar after the World Cup is sacred to those who have a heart that loves the cross. “You can judge it. We’ll see,” Kevert concludes. “There are still many cases going on …”
The X²0 Trophy traditionally begins on November 1 with Copenhagen. By the way, the focus of this regular criterion is on late December, early January, with three rounds in six days. What’s there: Herandles, who replaced Lonehout last year, is still part of the trophy, while Lonehout has regained his place. That place will be available as Antwerp moves to the World Cup.
Passes eight UCIs in the Netherlands
Another thing: for the first time in a long time, the Netherlands is counting eight international cyclocross races. Osterwijk and Casselde are new to the UCI calendar. Rosmalan, who has hosted the European Championships for the past two years, gets only a faint thank you for his efforts in recent years: it has to compete with the Overseas (World Cup) – and to a lesser extent – in Munich and Corner on October 31.
