BILTHOVEN / UTRECHT – Dutch hockey players can look back on a successful weekend in the FIH Pro League. They won convincingly 3-0 against Germany on Sunday, which was also beaten by the Netherlands on Saturday (2-1).
The Netherlands, where SCHC player Ginella Zerbo was not on the match list unlike on Saturday, got off to a flying start. SCHC player Pien Dicke scored the first goal in a dark Wagener stadium in Amstelveen. In the third quarter, Alyson Annan’s side were further ahead thanks to two goals from Lidewij Welten. Germany managed to create few opportunities against the stronger Netherlands.

The Netherlands retain the lead in the Pro League. The next opponent is New Zealand. These matches are scheduled for May 18 and 19.

Besides Dicke and Zerbo, there are more SCHC players in the Dutch hockey team: Kyra Fortuin (see photo below), Laurien Leurink, Caia van Maasakker and Xan de Waard.
Malou Pheninckx from Kampong is also part of the selection, along with Eva de Goede from Zeist and goalkeeper Josine Koning from Amersfoort.
