Pittsburgh (KDKA) – The Alehio County Department of Health has been advising people to stay home only as work, school and essential activities leave their homes as corona virus cases increase.
As Pittsburgh County Executive Rich Fitzgerald continues to watch what he calls “dangerous numbers”, Alehony County leaders held their weekly Corona virus conference on Wednesday.

Health Director Dr. Debra Bogan announced the advice, which comes into effect immediately, saying the increase in cases is “very appropriate”.
“For the past few weeks, I have been asking people to follow the rules, cut down on meetings and parties, stay at home except for essentials, and wear masks,” Dr. Debra Bogan said.
“I’m done listening, and today I tell you, these are things we all need to do to reduce the spread and keep our community safe. Today I am staying at home and publishing public health advice on ‘Stop Community Meetings’. ”

This is not an order enforced at home, but rather clear recommendations about staying home and stopping community meetings.
He says people can leave their homes only for essential activities such as work, school and medical care or the grocery store.
He asks people not to have guests in their home and to cancel their traditional Thanksgiving meetings involving members of other families.

It comes as Alehani 620 set another single day record with new corona virus cases In the last 24 hours. COVID-19 Wednesday caused two more deaths.
Dr. Bogan said the increase in these cases threatens our health systems because more and more people are being hospitalized. The death toll goes back a few weeks, he said.
He said this sharp increase in cases was not due to increased testing and that percentage-positive rates continue to climb.
Fitzgerald said the case numbers are increasing due to after-work and after-school activities. He says now is not the time to reduce our protection because a vaccine is several months away.
“We can do this,” he said. “I know we can do this.”

If you are away from home, state-wide, masks should be worn indoors and outdoors.
Anyone visiting from another state must be tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of entering Pennsylvania. If a test cannot be obtained or selected, or they are still waiting for results, they should be isolated for 14 days. The same is true for Pennsylvanians moving to other states and returning home.
Alehney County Shelter Consultation is available for 30 days or until Dr. Bogan decides it is appropriate to replace it.
