Jumbo-Visma confidently awaits Tuesday, when the time trial in Paris-Nice is scheduled. For the leader and time trial specialist Primož Roglič, the first big confrontation against his competitors. Sporting director Grischa Niermann tempers expectations. “Primož has a good time trial in his legs, but is definitely not the favorite for the win of the day,” he said.

Roglič survived Monday’s stage in Amilly unscathed. The Slovenian champion crossed the finish line in 37th place on the stage won by Cees Bol. “It was a nervous stage and the last fifty kilometers were very dangerous at times. There was also not enough wind to pull him properly ashore. Fortunately, we got through the stage well with Primož, ”said Niermann.

There was a moment of shock when George Bennett fell. The New Zealand champion was able to continue with a new helmet and finally finished 80th in the day’s result.
