The Sport Live sports program is broadcast on the regional channel Salland1. Sport Live is the radio program that covers all Go Ahead Eagles matches live. For years it has been hosted by DeventerRTV, but the local broadcaster will lose its broadcast license from May 1.
Sport Live is the popular sports program that began in 2006 with the broadcast of the home and away games of Go Ahead Eagles. Prior to that, Stadsradio Sport, which is part of DeventerFM, was only active in home games. Much has changed in the temp job landscape over the years, the next change is the move to Salland1.
Salland1 has in fact become a regional broadcaster. Financially, DeventerRTV could no longer organize to make current radio and television, so they gave up the broadcast frequencies and transferred them to Salland1. This means that Salland1’s deployment area is more than doubled at once. The chain established in Wijhe already had the municipality of Olst-Wijhe under its wing, as well as the municipality of Raalte. The municipality of Deventer will now be added to it on May 1.
Small changes for the listener. All matches will still be able to be followed live in the usual way. Also via the same broadcast frequencies, therefore via 107.3 in the municipality of Deventer and via 104.1 on the cable. Only the broadcast area will be much larger and the name of the broadcaster will change. Sport Live will merge into Salland Sport, an existing subsidiary of Salland1 which broadcasts all of its regular shows every Sunday, packed with local and regional sports. The live broadcasts will also be shown worldwide via DAB and an online stream.
This is a good thing, because Go Ahead Eagles fans can be found all over the world. For example, people listen faithfully from the United States, but also from Australia. Various fans at the counter, but also South America, Africa, you name it. On average, around 300 people outside the Netherlands still go through the stream, with special matches and my vacation periods these numbers easily double.
Editor-in-Chief Erik van Luttikhuizen sees this decision as a logical step: “Drtv will continue to be a commercial broadcaster, but without frequencies known to the listener. We make the programs for the listener, which are mostly Deventer folks. The Salland1 broadcast area also covers a larger part of the region around Deventer, so we meet the listener as much as possible that way. In fact, nothing changes except the name of the program and the name of the broadcaster. “
The facts at a glance:
The first broadcast under the Salland1 banner will take place on May 2. After 669 Sport Live broadcasts, that program name came to an end. Salland1 knows Salland Sport as a sports program and under this name every Go Ahead Eagles match can be followed live
