Sparta is the sloppy boss Vitesse and is getting closer to European dams

Sparta continues to compete for participation in European dams. The fit team, which have won six wins in the last eight matches, have had few problems with Vitesse at Het Kasteel: 3-0.

The match at Het Kasteel was all about European football. Vitesse, who is fourth, has the European ticket up for grabs with a five-point lead over pursuer Feyenoord.

Sparta can also continue to dream of Europe. Thanks to the victory over Vitesse, the Rotterdammers moved up to eighth place, which entitles them to a play-off spot for the Conference League.

The fiercest Sparta immediately fought back Vitesse and got a handful of opportunities. Just as Vitesse was heading towards Sparta’s goal (and perhaps had secured a penalty after Adil Auassar’s hands), the home side came in 1-0 via Bryan Smeets. The Sparta midfielder got plenty of space from the Vitesse defense, allowing him to move freely into a Mario Engels cross.

The visitors had a decent chance in the first half finals, but Sparta goalkeeper Maduka Okoye had a nice response to a shot from Maximilian Wittek.

In the second half, Vitesse tried to increase the pressure, but that didn’t lead to many chances. Riechedly Bazoer was the closest with a nice shot just outside the box, which landed on the crossbar.
