Schippers is looking for an Olympic ticket with a 4×100-meter relay

UTRECHT – Dafne Schippers has already qualified for the 100m and 200m for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but the Utrecht athlete is hoping to compete there with the 4x100m relay. This weekend, Schippers can impose this qualification with the Dutch team.

The World Cup relay is being held in Silesia (Poland) and you can win tickets for next summer’s Games there. The Netherlands simply couldn’t qualify for Tokyo in the 2019 Athletics World Cup, in part due to the absence of injured Schippers and Nadine Visser who couldn’t combine it with another ordeal.

Dear eight

Schippers and Visser are now in good shape. In the World Cup relay, a place in the top eight in the 4×100 meters is enough for the Netherlands to qualify directly for the Olympic Games. Major countries like the United States, Jamaica and England are absent from Poland.

Besides Schippers and Visser, the Dutch selection for the 4×100 meters also consists of Naomi Sedney, Marije van Hunenstijn and Jamile Samuel. They recently trained a lot in the relay at a training camp in Belek (Turkey).

Femke Bowl

The women in the 4×400-meter relay have already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. This team will also play at the World Cup in Poland next weekend, with the talented Femke Bol from Amersfoort, among others.
