Greenhouse construction career at a glance
Two years ago, Rob looked back on our 42 years in greenhouse construction at the time. In his early years, all of Rob’s clients were, so to speak, around the church in Naaldwijk. Today is different.
The first trip abroad, including New Zealand, was “quite exciting”. “We had made a counting error in preparing for the work, which meant our men there were running out of steel gutters. They were there, on the other side of the globe. They found a business nearby with a press brake that could help them with the missing gutters.
Much has changed over the years. “We used to use the word ‘standard’. You won’t hear that anymore. Each project is tailored as a bespoke costume to the culture, location, logistics and everything that surrounds it. As a result, the method of producing greenhouses has also changed. We had some materials in stock, such as AC or APD galvanized steel gutters. Now almost everything is produced specially and by project. After all, you don’t know today which system you’re going to sell tomorrow. “
