“Don’t ask me why I chose the owls exactly” Rita begins her story. “It all started when I received an owl figurine from friends over 40 years ago. I thought it was a beautiful statue and placed it on my closet. The owl was there alone and I bought another one myself. Owl Box “When other friends came to visit, the owls were noticed,” Rita continues. “When they went on a trip abroad, they brought me a nap and it always kept growing. The advantage is that people never have to think for long whether they want to do me a favor or give me a gift. Rita D’Hane’s owl collection has grown so much over the past 40 years that she has lost count herself. “I try to put them together in the owl closet as much as possible, but there are a number of large ones that have a different place. Some time ago I received a large copy from my son Mario. It was actually the intention to put this owl outside in the garden, but I liked it so much that it was given a place inside. I don’t know exactly how many I have, but there are a lot of them and I notice when I have to dust them, ”laughs Rita. New Zealand Owl She also has a number of unique owls in her collection that you won’t find here. “Of course I have owls that come from our country, but there are also some from Spain, Germany, Crete and Turkey and I even have a copy from New Zealand. By the way, I don’t just collect figurines, but everything to do with owls. For example, I have dice with an owl on it, a purse and coat hooks with an owl on it, a shoe-puller with an owl on the end and a beer key with the image of an owl, for n to name a few. “Another unique example is an owl from Swarovski. I buy very little myself, it must already be a unique item before I buy one myself, I have received most of it . It also means that there is a story for every owl, “says Rita Pinecones She is also a volunteer at the Braille League, where she discovered how to make owls out of pine cones. Meanwhile, the collection also includes some homemade copies. Rita is also well aware of the meaning of the owl. “The owl is a symbol of love, wisdom and beauty and was also the favorite bird of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom , science and the fine arts. ”
