Rare US baseball photo sold for $ 3.7 million

The baseball disc was purchased by real estate mogul Kurt Rappaport. The so-called T206 ticket, named after the tobacco maker who made the collectibles, from Wagner is very rare. The 1909 collection only includes a few dozen copies.

Well preserved

The baseball ticket business involves a lot of money in the United States. The value of the ticket is in part determined by the state it is in. According to the PSA, the American authority which evaluates the images, the copy of Wagner is very well preserved.

According to Rappaport, he bought the “holy grail” of baseball images. “The rarest and most wanted of all.” The brand new owner sees the attribute as a work of art. “For me, it’s nothing less than a famous painting”, he said TMZ Sports.

Very thirsty

Wagner is known as one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Despite the astronomical amount, the ticket purchased by Rappaport is not the most expensive in history. Last August, a record debut season for Mike Trout, one of today’s greatest baseball players, sold for $ 3.9 million.
