Prince Harry to work as senior executive at Silicon Valley start-up

Now that Prince Harry no longer has royal duties, he has used his free time to find a new job in the United States (US). He found this at the BetterUp start-up, where he will work as Chief Impact Officer (CIO). The Wall Street Journal announced it.

BetterUp is a San Francisco-based start-up. The company was founded in 2013 and specializes in employee mental health. BetterUp also provides care to transform lives and careers. The Duke of Sussex says in a blog post on the BetterUp site to be very satisfied to be able to start at the start-up. “I am very happy to be part of the BetterUp team and community! Thanks for hiring me, ”Harry said.

Mental Health

The prince says he fully agrees with the company’s mission. “I am convinced that putting our mental health first opens up possibilities and opportunities that we didn’t know we had inside of us,” he said. He refers to his own life. “Over the course of my life, I have learned to translate pain into purpose.

The job at BetterUp is the Duke’s first official job at a private company since he retired from the British Royal Family a year ago. In any case, it seems to be suitable work for humans. He has talked a lot about mental health in the past.

When Harry was still royal, he worked with his brother Prince William and his wife Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, for a charity called Heads Together. This institution focuses on the mental health of young British people.

‘A true citizen of the world’

Alexi Robichaux, the founder and CEO of BetterUp, welcomes the prince with open arms. “I look forward to working with Harry,” says the CEO in the same blog post. “A true global citizen, he has dedicated his life to raising awareness of the diverse needs of people around the world and advocating for mental health initiatives.”

It is not yet clear whether this is a full time job. Either way, Harry and his wife Meghan have other income. For example, they signed several million contracts with Spotify and Netflix to produce content for them.
