Orange hockeymen powerless against Germany

UTRECHT – Dutch hockey players lost to Germany in the FIH Pro League. The Orange was lost 2-4 at Amstelveen.

After eight minutes of hockey, the 1-0 came on the scoreboard. Kampong player Jip Janssen opened the scoring from the penalty spot. Five minutes later, Constantin Staib already equalized on behalf of the German visitors.

In the 25th minute, it was Paul-Philipp Kaufmann who gave Germany a 1-2 lead. Germany remained too smart for the Dutch defense. This resulted in a 1-3 in the 44th minute. Offensively, the Orange also failed. In the third quarter, the hockey players could not create a chance.

Eight minutes before the end of the game, Staib managed to make 1-4. It was not the final score. In the 68th minute, Jeroen Hertzberger made it 2-4.

On Sunday, the Netherlands will play again in the FIH Pro League against Germany. This match can be followed live from 4.30 p.m. in Namur and Rugnummer on Radio M Utrecht. On May 18 and 19, there will be played against New Zealand. Orange is number two after 10 matches. Belgium is the leader.
