The story
Chris goes for the first time to visit the parents of his white girlfriend Rose, just hours from New York. Do they know I’m dark? No need for anything, she soothes. Father Dean, a neurosurgeon, will soon tell him without being asked that he would vote for Obama a third time if he could. In no time, it turns out that strange things are happening at Chris ‘in-laws’ house. And even turning a spoon into a cup of tea is scary.
Evaluation guide.tv: ★★★★
Rarely has a horror film been so committed as Get out. Director and screenwriter Peele incorporated all kinds of current themes into his production, with racism being the most important element. This won him the highest praise; Peele received the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay as the first African American in movie history. Get out was also nominated in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. This latest nomination was more than deserved, as Daniel Kaluuya brilliantly portrays Chris – who goes through all kinds of weird things.
Throw away
Besides Daniel Kaluuya (Black Panther) and Allison Williams (Perfection) are also Bradley Whitford (The post office) and Catherine Keener (Captain Phillips) featured in this movie. This production is directed by Jordan Peele (We).
