Niantic actually thought the old Pokémon GO boxes were way too cheap!

While there are still players hoping for the old Pokémon GO boxes to return, that seems to be over now. Michael Steranka, Pokémon GO Team Leader at Niantic, when asked why the value for money in boxes is decreasing, replied the following:

“incredible offers” as default boxes for a long time, and it’s “a bit irresponsible” of them to leave them available for as long as they have”

In other words, Pokémon GO boxes had been too cheap for too long, and it was actually irresponsible. He also indicated that players tend to keep looking to the past. It’s really in the past. According to Steranka, it’s good to always look at value and what you’re getting for it. Personally, however, I find two euros (approximately) for almost always three times a Pokémon that is really worth nothing, excessive. However, there is a difference between Niantic’s vision (the value of things in the game) and the players’.
