The Formula 1 organization caused a sensation on social networks Sunday morning by changing its logo on its Twitter and Instagram page. A new logo suddenly appeared on the Internet, in blue and purple colors. In all likelihood, the (temporary) logo change is a precursor to the announcement of a Grand Prix in Miami in 2022.
On Sunday morning, there was a lot of tweeting about the new Formula 1 logo on social media. Above the name of the organization on Twitter and Instagram, new colors and a different theme on the sports logo suddenly appeared. Where the logo is normally white with red, the photo appears to have been replaced by a neon-like theme with blue and purple.

City council gave the green signal this week
Formula 1 appears to have changed its logo to usher in the announcement of a Grand Prix in Miami. Last week, the city council approved the construction of an urban circuit for a Formula 1 race, a plan that also involves significant financial projects near the circuit and a special education project in collaboration with Formula 1 and neighboring schools.
Formula 1 has been looking for years to organize a second Grand Prix in the United States and FOM (Formula One Management, note) now seems to have found its beloved destination with Miami. The city of Florida has long been on the organization’s wishlist, but political opposition and a struggling community have made 2021 too early for a race weekend. New political faces in Miami are ensuring that a zoning plan could be signed last week, which put the signal on green for the FOM.
Several sources, including American motorsport journalist Adam Stern, report that an announcement will be made on Monday regarding the Miami Grand Prix. The promoters of the Grand Prix will sign a multi-year pledge for a street race near the famous Hard Rock Stadium.

The change in the Formula 1 logo therefore seems to refer mainly to upcoming news. The color scheme of the new logo appears to be based on this. The logo’s theme and color scheme seems to hint at the Miami home colors and the vintage neon theme also matches well with the city’s iconic image, which is reflected in the Miami Heat basketball team and the famous Miami Vice series.
