Alex Lasry, son of Marc Lasry, an American billionaire born into a Judeo-Moroccan family in Marrakech, is running for the US Senate elections in 2022.

Alex Lasry, 33, is taking his first steps in politics and wants to become a senator from Wisconsin. He is currently vice president of Milwaukee Bucks of which his father owns a large portion.

“It’s time to let go of Washington’s old ways and start thinking about the US economy in a new way,” Lasry said, adding that progressive values are good for business.

Mark Lasry is a candidate for the Democrats. His opponent is Republican Ron Johnson, who has been a senator from Wisconsin since 2010. He will first have to beat his party member Thomas Nelson. Despite his little experience, Lasry is considered a serious candidate. He owes this, among other things, to the $ 1.8 billion fortune of his father, who is funding his campaign.

It was precisely this point that annoyed Thomas Nelson, who asked him via Twitter not to use his family’s fortune for his campaign because “no one should buy a seat in the Senate”.
