“The script was ready since the last time, so we were able to start right away,” says Jannie van Vugt, director of the Oosterschelde library. She remembers the last time people were very happy to be able to borrow books. “And it was also good for us that old books were turned over so that we could lend to others.”
Apply online
Borrowers can use a form on the Zeeland Libraries websites to indicate their preference and which library they wish to collect the books from. They can also choose one of the Bibliobus locations. Libraries provide up to three titles at a time.
Requested books can be picked up any day of the week at ZB Middelburg. Other libraries have fixed days and times for this, which can be found on the website.
Surprise bag
People who can’t book online or can’t go to a library and still want to read books from the library can request a surprise bag over the phone. It contains five books from the libraries of Zeeland. The books aren’t entirely a surprise; the candidate can indicate a preference for genres and subjects. Bags can be picked up after three working days at the agreed collection point.
