Oaks Mall posted a statement on Twitter on Tuesday, saying, “We do not condone this irresponsible – but constitutionally protected – peaceful protest. We share your concerns with the Sheriff’s Office.
The mall is located in Ventura County, part of the Southern California region, a group of districts under the state-mandated shelter order induced by low ICU capacity. Meetings are prohibited except for worship and political expression. The government has reported more than 1.9 million cases and continues to increase, reporting tens of thousands of new cases daily.
Cameron, who is best known for his role as Mike Sever on the long-running ABC sitcom “Growing Pains,” linked his efforts to Singh It La der USA.
“How many people can you have in your house or do you think you have completed all the orders that tell you how to eat or that you can not sing?” Houston Bishop Steve Rickle said on the group’s website that it encourages people to mobilize and sing together as part of their protest against the government “tyrants trying to control our lives.”
Last week, Cameron’s “growing pains” costar and on-screen sister, actress Tracy Gold expressed their concern by mentioning their show characters in a tweet.
“Check with my dear brother Mike. @Kirk Cameron I want you to know that I refuse to be your brilliant sister. I care about you and your family. Wear a mask. Stay home and then sing.”
