Developing Your Football Skills While Training With Girls As Ambitious As You: Is It Right For You? It’s possible Utrecht Women’s Football Academy (UVVA), which mainly focuses on highly motivated players up to and including the age of 17. We talk to Founder and Coach John Kaersenhout about this special football academy and what you can expect when you join register.

If you are a little familiar with women’s and women’s football, you’ve no doubt heard of UVVA. “The academy, which was founded in 2014, is the result of the training that was put in place to nurture the women’s branch of FC Utrecht. Today, there are more than a hundred footballers who together represent around fifty clubs. These are not only clubs from Utrecht, but also from the surrounding provinces, ”says John.

Fly extra hours or work for a teaching career

The UVVA training program is a complement to the regular activities of the club. John explains, “A lot of girls train at their own club two or three times a week. If you are ambitious and want to do more flying hours, you can take additional training with us on Sunday or Friday.

Some girls train at UVVA because they want to grow or are looking for an extra challenge. But there are also players who dream of a professional career and the UVVA coaches are happy to support the realization of this dream. “I am a member of the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association, ed.). When we see that a player has a lot of talent, we are happy to recommend her – in consultation – so that she can participate in a KNVB activity, for example. “Some UVVA players even arrive at the Eredivisie:” The girls who played football at UVVA play at SC Heerenveen and Excelsior. There are also girls who now play for a promising squad including Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord and Ado Den Haag.
