Netflix also notes that the ISP Speed Index is not a measure of the overall performance of services or other data that may be sent over the specific ISP network.
Last year Jio launched fiber optic broadband plans starting at Rs 399 after the work-from-home culture became the norm for people across the country. Other ISPs have followed suit. AirtelXStream has started offering unlimited internet access and has also started offering broadband subscriptions starting at Rs 399. Excitel has also started offering subscriptions for Rs 399 with an annual subscription.
Returning to the index Netflix ISP, JioFiber, Airtel, ACT, Tata Sky 7 Star Digital, Alliance Broadband, Excitel Broadband, GTPL, Hathway, SPECTRA, Syscon Inforoute and YOU Broadband followed in second place at 3.2 Mbps.
In third place in Netflix’s ISP index, NXTDIGITAL’s One Broadband service was at 3 Mbps, followed by state-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), D-Vois and Tikona at 2.8 Mbps. MTNL was at the bottom of the ISP at 2.4 Mbps.
Reaching the country’s average index, India came in second with a speed of 3.2 Mbps, alongside Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, France , Greece, Italy, Paraguay, Poland, Taiwan, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay.
