The next Jeopardy host is here: Ken Jennings, one of the greatest contestants in the show’s history. He will be the first of the following guest guests Death of beloved host Alex Trebeck Earlier this month.
“Alex believed in the importance of Jeopardy and said he always wanted the show to follow him,” said Jeopardy executive producer Mike Richards. Variety said.
“We honor Alex by continuing to produce the game he wanted with smart competitors and challenging clues. Our goal is to create a sense of community and continuity for our audience by bringing in familiar guests in the near future.”
Trebeck, who hosted the Trivia Game Show for 37 seasons beginning in 1984, died on November 8 at the age of 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Shared the diagnosis With fans in March last year. Jeopardy has a long tradition of a Video tribute.
A favorite to take the stage, Jennings is the consulting producer and crowned champion who became a popular contender at the Jeopardy Greatest of All Time competition earlier this year. He hit a 74-game winning streak in 2004 and has since become the highest-grossing American sports show contestant of all time.
Sony says more hosts will be announced in the coming weeks. The last episodes filmed by Trebeck will air in early January 2021, and the episodes hosted by Jennings and other interim hosts will air from January 11th.
