Minister Uraiqit Ramsaran of Social Affairs and Housing (Sozavo) installed Huize Ashiana with Director Melitia Sentilia of Social Affairs, the new Director, Brenda van Daal and the new Board of Directors of the Foundation for the Management and Operation of Huize Ashiana retirement homes (SBEB). Maison Ashiana has become an indispensable part of society due to the noble work it has been doing for over forty years.
Not only in the form of housing, but also quality nursing and care for seniors. For Minister Ramsaran, it is important that seniors spend their old age the right way, because they have made a vital contribution to the construction and development of Suriname. “That is why the Sozavo ministry is doing everything possible to ensure that the guarantees of a better existence continue.”
The Minister thanked the outgoing interim director, Christien Alspeer, and the outgoing board for the services provided. This occasion is a special time for Ramsaran and Sentilia. They gave the new director and the board of directors the courage to run the house in a professional manner.
Minister Ramsaran congratulated the new director on the new challenges “You are getting on the bandwagon. It is not an easy task to run a health care facility. It requires a lot of courage, commitment and especially in these times a lot of creativity, ”declared the Minister. Director Van Daal noted that there were many challenges. However, she stressed that she will move mountains with the board and staff to bring the Ashiana to other heights.
The new SBEB Board of Directors is made up of Chairman Erny Landveld and members Moejinga Aboikoni-Linga (Sozavo), Ritesh Dhanpat (Public Health), Johannes Aviankoi (General Staff Association), Lonita Djojotaroeno-Berika and Widiawatie Sitaram.
