Ids Hannema has been training since this week with the main force of third divisionist Staphorst. The 21-year-old footballer is studying in the United States, but is not expected to cross the ocean again until January.
Until then, Hannema, a former Achilles 1894 player in Assen, will maintain his level of fitness at Staphorst. The club can make good use of the Wright State University team’s attacking midfielder during training, as the selection has been reduced due to two long-term injuries.
Johnny de Vries suffers from a knee injury and the question is how he recovers. Alex Esselbrugge was out of circulation for a while due to a cruciate ligament injury and is now back on the pitch doing some walking exercises. Both footballers are focusing on the second half of the season.
For Staphorst, the adventure in the third division begins on Saturday afternoon with an away game against Odin’59 in Heemskerk.
