German firefighters find five dead after house fire, signs of crime | Abroad

Firefighters made a bad discovery by extinguishing a fire in a house near Wuppertal, Germany. They found the remains of five people, German media report.




The victims are a father, a mother, their two children and a grandmother who lived in a nearby house. One of the victims was able to escape but succumbed to it, reports the WDR. According to the state broadcaster of North Rhine-Westphalia, there are indications of a crime and the police have put an assassination commission on the case. The Cologne police confirm the latter to the ZDF but do not want to say anything else.

Firefighters were informed of a fire in a house on the outskirts of Radevormwald, about 20 kilometers southeast of Wuppertal, around 5:00 p.m. The firefighters extinguished the fire around 7:30 p.m. Then they discovered the five bodies. The cause of the fire and the victims have not yet been officially revealed.
