Where the “average” Mastin might not be the most affectionate dog, Arlo shows the opposite. This big teddy bear “demands” his well-deserved attention from those who (soon) have his heart. Many cattle and garden rangers like to live independently, with a Mastin (and also clearly Arlo’s preference) it’s slightly different, they don’t like to lose sight of their people and are often loyal followers in and around the house.

Arlo is a big, strong boy with a lot of strength who enjoys long walks. While Arlo can and should learn a lot, it’s important that its new owner is physically able to manage Arlo safely on a line. Arlo is literally looking for a strong boss who can point Arlo in the right direction with the famous velor glove with his massive size. The velvet glove should not be forgotten here. Arlo may be tall and strong, but his soul is soft and fragile if not led gently. Arlo shows in the shelter that he can be guided well with the right motivation, like pulling a leash.

It is important for the new owner to be aware that Arlo is very selective towards his peers. Walking in an area with free runners is therefore not possible without a muzzle. Arlo will not be placed in a household with other dogs for this reason. ??
