Quincy Promes and Steven Seagal probably know each other because of their shared interest in Russia and their ties to the country.
Promes, a top soccer player from Spartak Moscow, has a residence permit in Russia and is currently shielded from Dutch justice, having been sentenced to 1.5 years in prison. According to reports, he wants to obtain a Russian passport in order to stay in the country permanently, and could possibly count on Seagal’s help.

Well-known Hollywood star and martial arts expert Steven Seagal is a fan of Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Seagal was granted Russian citizenship and appointed special envoy to improve relations with the United States.

Although the exact reason for their meeting is unknown, it is possible that Promes, who would have been on vacation when he met Seagal, could certainly need his help. Seagal has strong in-country connections in Russia to get things done.
