It’s been almost six years since the last episode of Hannibal aired. The serial killer made his own series in 2013, in which he was played by Mads Mikkelsen. The show quickly built a loyal fan base, but NBC TV didn’t think it was enough to give the go-ahead for another fourth season.
Since then, fans just haven’t let go of him. There have been moves for some time to put the series back on the hit or on a streaming service, but now things are picking up a bit. Via Twitter, fans jointly launched a new watch in the series and have the hashtag with their own hands. #HannibalDeservesPlus trend. Whether this will have any effect remains to be seen, but it certainly won’t be the passion of the fans.
Mads Mikkelsen is also for a new Hannibal
Not only do fans want to see a new season of Hannibal, the show’s cast certainly can’t wait to step into the shoes of the iconic characters again. This became clear when Hannibal hit Netflix in the US last year and then topped the Top 10 Most Viewed Series for a long time. In the Happy Sad Confused Podcast Mads Mikkelsen then indicated that he would like to play Hannibal again.
That fan promotions can lead to new series seasons has already been proven several times in the past. For example, Community got several new seasons, as well as The Expanse on Amazon Prime Video.
