eh? The spectator discovers an error in Oppenheimer

You Can’t Have Missed It: The Movie Oppenheimer is currently in theaters and is very popular. The film has already attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors and one of them made a breakthrough discovery in the film. Because there would be one historical error worry.

The story

If you missed the hype surrounding the movie, we’ll give you a brief description of what the movie is about here. Nothing else than Cillian Murphywho can Peaky Blinders, plays the main role. We also see other famous actresses like Florence Poug And Emily Blunt back in the movie. Okay, so what is this bug discovered by a fan?

History error

In one of the scenes, we see flags of the United States. These flags have fifty stars, but that doesn’t quite match the time period the movie is set in. This scene takes place in 1945 when the American flag had only 48 stars. Alaska and Hawaii were not yet officially recognized as states of America at that time. Ah!

“Everything was fine,” the observant viewer wrote on Twitter. “But I’m one of those people complaining about using 50 star flags in a scene set in 1945,” the attentive viewer wrote in the tweet. Oops!
