The animated film was a hit in Dutch cinemas. snout won three golden calves at the Netherlands Film Festival, including Best Picture, and was nominated for the Oscars.
The animated film is about Babs, who receives his grandfather’s pig Knor from America for his ninth birthday. His parents aren’t too happy about it, but Babs can keep the animal as long as Knor attends a puppy class. Lead vocals are provided by Jelka van Houten, Kees Prins, Henry van Loon and Hiba Ghafry.
snout is a stop motion animation. This means that a director obtains his images by photographing clay or plastic puppets shot by shot, while the puppet has a slightly different pose with each shot. By playing these images one after another, it seems that the puppets are moving.
After almost a year, the film is still playing in three cinemas: at Focus in Arnhem, Eye in Amsterdam and LantarenVenster in Rotterdam.
