Hanneke van Eijken of the Guild of Poets of the City of Utrecht in honor of World poetry day, which takes place on Sunday, wrote a poem. It is an ode to all the people who live, work and study at Utrecht Science Park.
The poem is called “How the light falls”. In a video, Van Eijken, who is also a lecturer at the University of Utrecht, records the text of the play himself. The video also shows beautiful drone footage of Utrecht Science Park and the rest of the city.
“The ‘light’ is a reference to science, the light of the ‘sun of justice’ of the University of Utrecht, but also the light that is stored in our bones, our DNA structure. In a year with empty lecture halls, full ICs, caregivers, animal keepers, scientists and entrepreneurs forced to continue working and studying under difficult circumstances, this poem is an ode, an arc of poetry, a bird that sings to everyone. who live in Utrecht Science Park have been working from home for a year now, working hard to bridge the gap between the present and our future. And not the least for all the patients who have depended on good care over the past year, ”says Van Eijken.
Those affected by the poem can read the text have it delivered to your home for free. They will then receive a growing paper map. Watch the video below.
