DEX and Grant Thornton oversee agreement with R&G Global Consultants

Earlier this month, international operations consultancy Argon & Co bought Dutch firm R&G Global Consultants. Meet the negotiators who made the transaction successful.

R&G Global Consultants was assisted in the acquisition transaction by professionals from DEX international M&A, who acted as exclusive M&A advisor to the shareholders of the Dutch supply chain and operations consulting firm. The transaction team consisted of Martijn Peters, Koen Andeweg and Mark Klein Haneveld.

DEX international M&A is an M&A consultancy firm founded in 2015 by Martijn Peters, who previously worked as a partner for the international consulting firm Solving Efeso (now Efeso Consulting), where he led the international M&A practice. Director Koen Andeweg also has experience at Efeso Consulting, having previously worked for EY in his career.

At the other end of the negotiating table, buyer Argon & Co, founded in 2018 – following the merger between French Argon Consulting and UK Crimson & Co – received M&A advice from the investment bank Rothschild & Co.

A Grant Thornton Corporate Finance team – consisting of Wilfred van der Lee, Ryno Swanepoel, Adam Azulai and Vincent Bervoets provided financial due diligence support on the transaction, while legal advice was provided by M&A lawyers at Dentons and McDermott Will & Emery. Ardian, an Argon & Co investor who funded the transaction, handled the M&A work through an in-house transaction team.

With the addition of approximately 30 consultants from R&G Global Consultants, Argon & Co now has a team of 300 consultants and employees, operating from offices in France, UK, Germany, Switzerland, United States, Australia and New Zealand, United States. United Arab Emirates, India and Singapore.

R&G Global Consultants was founded in 2004 by a group of three former directors of General Electric, including the Dutch Piet van Abeelen and Aart Willem de Wolf. Van Abeelen headed General Electric’s global Lean Six Sigma division and reported directly to then CEO Jack Welch. De Wolf was one of the leaders of the practice.
