Daley Blind is playing his hundredth international match for Orange. The Bayern Munich player, who can play both in defense and in midfield, replaced Marten de Roon against France as they trailed 3-0.
Only eight other players have a hundred or more international appearances to their name. Besides record holder Wesley Sneijder, who played 134 times for the Orange team, these are Edwin van der Sar (130), Frank de Boer (112), Rafael van der Vaart (109), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (106), Dirk Kuijt (104), Robin van Persie (102) and Phillip Cocu (101).
Blind made his debut for the Dutch national team in 2013, in the home game against Italy (1-1). Of the hundred matches he played, he was in the base 98 times.
In the hundred games Blind played for the Orange, he scored three times. He was also precise in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar against the United States (3-1).
Blind moved to Bayern Munich earlier this year, where he sits mostly on the bench. He left Ajax after losing his starting spot in Amsterdam and had a rocky relationship with now fired manager Alfred Schreuder.
